Job summary

Epworth HealthCare in Geelong is seeking a qualified tradesperson for a General Maintenance role within a hospital environment. The position covers preventive and corrective tasks, with a 38-hour week from Monday to Friday and on-call availability as experience grows.

You will inspect building services, prepare scopes of work, source quotations, and ensure spares are stocked to minimise downtime while supporting health and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified tradesperson or equivalent experience in a Building Maintenance role.
• At least 3–5 years working in a Building Maintenance environment.
• Prioritisation and time-management skills.
• Work with managers to ensure high utilisation of available technology.
• Repairs to infrastructure fabric.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections of building services, plant & equipment, and/or building/fixtures.

• Providing first line response to all urgent requests and breakdowns.
• Procurement of spares/materials and ensure stock levels to minimise downtime.

Job Description

In the provision of a quality maintenance service, as a qualified tradesperson – (General Maintenance), on corrective and preventative tasks, to Epworth Geelong, your primary responsibilities require you to utilise your skills, knowledge & experience with available resources to effectively maintain plant & equipment, building & fixtures as well as loose assets in a hospital environment.

Whilst this position requires a 38 hour work week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00PM you will be required to be available to work additional sick and annual leave shift cover and be available for On Call once deemed sufficiently experienced in the workplace environment.

You will make an impact by:

• Carrying out inspections of building services, plant & equipment, and or building/fixtures.
• Preparationofscopes of work & source quotations for the required task.
• Providingfirst line response to all urgent requests and breakdowns.
• Procurement of sufficient spares/materials and ensure enough spares/materials are kept in stock to minimise any equipment downtime.
• Participatingactively and positively in the area of health and safety to reduce all hazards and incidents within the workplace.
