Job summary

Adbri’s Maintenance Fitter role at Kembla Grange is hands-on, covering mechanical and electrical maintenance, planned and unplanned tasks, and continuous improvement. You’ll support Operations and Site Management to keep plant reliability and performance high, while coordinating contractor work and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

You’ll work in a modern, safety-focused facility with opportunities to develop technical skills and contribute to a 'One Business' culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a production, manufacturing or operations environment.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing contractors and operators, including supervision.
• Strong practical experience in mechanical maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Experience with maintenance management systems, ideally Guardian or similar CMMS.
• Experience supporting or managing planned and preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding and commitment to workplace health and safety, including SWMS, isolation procedures and permits.
• QA and OH&S training and a strong understanding of quality, safety and environmental requirements.
• High level of computer literacy, with the ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with Operations, Site Management, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Proactive and practical approach to problem solving, with focus on plant reliability.
• Attention to detail and maintaining accurate records, stock levels and maintenance information.
• Experience with electrical systems, control systems and automation.
• Experience in maintenance management or coordination.
• Experience in continuous improvement/Lean/5S environments.
• Experience identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency and business processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventative and unplanned maintenance across the facility to ensure reliability.
• Ensure all activities meet safety standards, procedures and legislation.
• Conduct daily site inspections and report safety, environmental and maintenance issues.

Job description

We’re looking for a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our BPS team at Kembla Grange and play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our plant and equipment.

This is a hands‑on role with a broad range of responsibilities across mechanical and electrical maintenance, planned and unplanned maintenance, contractor coordination, maintenance systems, spare parts, safety and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with Operations and Site Management to identify issues, solve problems and ensure the site continues to perform at its best.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Perform routine, preventative and unplanned maintenance activities across the facility, includingmechanical and electrical maintenance, to ensure plant and equipment reliability and operational performance.
• Ensure all maintenance and operational activities are conducted in accordance with requiredsafety standards, procedures and legislation.
• Conduct daily site inspections of plant, equipment and general site cleanliness, identifying and reporting issues requiring rectification, includingsafety, environmental and maintenance issues.
• Work closely with the Operations team to supportday-to-day problem solving, ensuring plant performance issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
• Assist Site Management with theplanning, development and implementation of planned maintenance activities.
• Ensure the maintenance workshop is appropriately set up, organised and maintained, with the tools, equipment, resources and capabilities required to support site maintenance activities.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Guardian maintenance system, including maintaining accurate system records, managing planned and unplanned maintenance activities, and recording spare parts usage and timing.
• Ensure maintenance spare parts are appropriatelyorganised, stocked and replenishedto support reliable and efficient maintenance operations.
• Undertake regularstocktakes and inventory checksof maintenance spare parts and ensure discrepancies or shortages are identified and addressed.
• Identify and incorporatecontinuous improvement opportunitiesinto maintenance and operational activities through both formal and informal improvement processes.
• Coordinate thedevelopment and delivery of minor maintenance and improvement projects, ensuring activities are appropriately planned and completed.
• Ensure the site is maintained in aclean, safe and orderly condition, and that all relevant environmental and safety requirements are met.
• Safely coordinate site contractors, includingcontractor induction, supervision and monitoringto ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare and maintain appropriatesafety documentation, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), isolation procedures and permits where required, to ensure a safe system of work.
• Comply with the relevantOccupational Safety and Health requirementsand all reasonable directions relating to health and safety at work.
• Follow all company procedures and processes relating toquality, safety and the environment, and ensure the appropriate authority is obtained in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Report quality and safetynon-conformancesand actively identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems and operational performance.
• Comply with all ICL policies, procedures and requirements as amended or varied from time to time.
• Support and contribute to a positive“One Business” culture, working collaboratively across the site and wider business.
• Take responsibility for the effective completion of mechanical maintenance activities and contribute to the overall reliability and performance of the facility.
