Job summary

Flinders Port Holdings is seeking a Maintenance & Construction Team Member for our Adelaide site to maintain and improve marine assets. The role offers a four-day working week and a clear career progression pathway with in-house training and competency-based pay increases.

You will perform welding and fabrication on jetties, wharves, and infrastructure, operate cranes and forklifts, and collaborate with teammates to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, fabrication or maintenance.
• Experience with general plant and equipment.
• Trade qualifications as a boilermaker and metal fabrication desirable.
• Marine environment experience desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of WH&S practices and ability to interpret JSEAs.
• Effective communication and ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, fabrication, maintenance and repair on marine assets including jetties, wharves and related infrastructure.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, winches and related equipment.
• Install and maintain port infrastructure, formwork, painting, mooring systems and temporary platforms.
• Work collaboratively with team members and report hazards to Team Leader.
• Work independently or in a team, follow complex instructions and apply quality control.

Through our operations we facilitate over $25 billion in international trade annually and are the key platform for South Australian two-way trade in goods. **Role Overview**The Marine Maintenance and Construction Team Member plays a key role in maintaining and improving Flinders Ports' infrastructure, undertaking a diverse range of maintenance, fabrication and minor capital works across wharves, marine structures, buildings and general port assets.The role offers an attractive four-day working week, along with a structured career progression pathway supported by in-house training and development, with pay increases linked to achieving higher competency levels.**Key Responsibilities*** Perform welding, fabrication, maintenance, and repair work on new and existing marine assets, including steel and timber structures, jetties, wharves, and associated infrastructure, both in workshop environments and on-site;* Operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, winches, and mechanical tools, including handling heavy construction plant and vessels;* Install and maintain port infrastructure, formwork, painting, mooring systems, temporary work platforms;* Work collaboratively with team members, report hazards or concerns to the Team Leader, and ensure smooth daily operations; and* Work independently or in a team, follow complex instructions, apply quality control techniques, and provide support to colleagues. **About you**Your skills and experience will include -* Experience working in construction, fabrication or maintenance;* Experience carrying out various maintenance activities and in the use of general plant and equipment;* Trade qualifications as a boilermaker and metal fabrication is desirable, industry experience in this field will also be considered.;* Previous experience in a marine environment desirable but not essential**;*** Knowledge of WH&S practices that apply to general labouring work and ability to conduct and interpret JSEAs; and* Ability to communicate effectively and work with limited supervision.**Benefits**Flinders Port Holdings know that people are central to everything that we do.
