Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Manager to lead our Machine Shop, oversee machining operations and drive production performance.

You will plan schedules, allocate staff, coach machinists, coordinate CNC set-ups and ensure SOP compliance, while liaising with the production team to meet targets and maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum five years' experience managing CNC workshop team
• Experience scheduling and prioritising production to meet throughput targets
• Broad knowledge of CNC Lathe and Milling machining processes
• Proficient in measuring and quality control equipment
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and coaching skills
• High level of attention to detail
• A team player approach

The Role Includes:

• Co-ordinate the CNC machine set-up and ensure SOP compliance
• Liaise with the production team on scheduling and priorities
• Monitor output against targets and resolve bottlenecks
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting
• Maintain a safe, clean and orderly workplace
  

This role requires strong people management as well as technical capability, with responsibility for team performance, clear direction, accountability and day-to-day leadership.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
