Job summary

TriCab (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable operator for our Port Melbourne plastic compound production area. This full-time role involves operating and monitoring the compounding machine during permanent night shifts (6pm–6am) on a Mon-Wed/Mon-Thurs roster, with a training period on day shift.

Applicants should be physically fit for manual lifting, enjoy working in a team, and be flexible to shifts. Forklift license and related safety checks are essential.

This position is based on-site at our Head Office & Manufacturing / Warehouse facility in Port Melbourne, just moments from the West Gate and Monash Freeways.

About the role

We are looking for a reliable operator to efficiently operate and monitor our plastic compound production area and maintain plant integrity.

This is a full time role, working 12 hour shifts averaged across a fortnight (7 shifts inclusive of 3.8 hours overtime a fortnight) on permanent night shift (6pm-6am), affording great work-life balance on a Mon-Wed/Mon-Thurs roster.

*Please note, night shifts will commence following an initial training period on day shift.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Setting up, loading and unloading compounding machine
• Monitoring compounding machine
• Troubleshooting and cleaning production machinery
• Manual handling, including lifting of equipment and materials as required

About you

Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate commitment, initiative and reliability

Ability to do manual lifting and be physically fit

Flexibility to work different shifts and help out where required

Experience as a plastic compound machine operator (buss machine operation preferred, but not essential)

A current forklift license and experience

The ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Basic computer, literacy, numeracy, problem solving and communication skills

You will have some relevant polymer compounding experience, but equally important is your willingness and desire to learn and be a diligent key member of our high performing team!
