Job summary

SURDEX Sheet & Coil, part of the Southern Steel Group, is seeking a machine operator to join their Dandenong team. The role focuses on setting up and operating the steel slitting machine while supporting warehouse activities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, good communication, and willingness to learn are essential. Reference checks and pre-employment medicals, including drug and alcohol screen, may be required for successful applicants.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of Steel Products would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

SURDEX Sheet & Coil is a member of the Southern Steel Group, a leading company in the steel industry. We are based in Dandenong and specialise in supplyingsolutions tothe Victorian market.

We are currently looking for a machine operator (for the steel slitting machine) to join our busy team.

Working in a fast-paced environment, the main duties include setting up, assisting, operating of machinery and equipment. You will also be involved in warehousing and distribution of steel products using forklifts and overhead cranes.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of Steel Products would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Work independently and within a team environment
• A ‘can do’ attitude
• Willingness to learn
