Job summary

Polyfoam Australia Pty Ltd in Dandenong, VIC, is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for a casual role. You will operate and monitor PE extrusion lines, perform quality checks, and help maintain equipment, with full training provided.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will work as part of a small team, emphasising safety, accuracy, and reliability. The position offers on-site work with an inclusive, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in operating extrusion machine (advantageous).
• Understanding of plastics/polymer processing principles.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset.
• Ability to read and understand production specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work other departments (if applicable).
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor PE extrusion lines to ensure quality output.
• Monitor temperature, pressure, and line speed; adjust as needed.
• Perform quality checks and record results during runs.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment faults or product defects.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of extrusion equipment.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate production logs and reports.
• Collaborate with other operators and supervisors; attention to detail required.

Australian owned and operated business based in Dandenong are a local packaging manufacturer. We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator, casual position.

We are seeking an experienced enthusiastic hard working Machine Operator to join our team at Polyfoam Dandenong. Full training will be provided.

Reporting to the Production supervisor, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Set up, operate, and monitor PE extrusion lines to produce quality output
• Monitor temperature, pressure, and line speed settings, adjusting as needed
• Conduct quality checks throughout production runs and record results
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment faults or product defects
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of extrusion equipment
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
• Maintain accurate production logs and reports
• Work collaboratively with other operators and supervisors attention to detail is a must.
