Job summary

The Langham Sydney is seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Handyperson to join our Engineering team. You will perform general maintenance, minor repairs, painting, electrical work, plumbing and equipment care to uphold our luxury standards.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in hospitality maintenance, basic electrical/plumbing knowledge, and good communication skills. Weekend availability and a trade qualification are highly regarded as part of your profile.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role, ideally within hospitality.
• Engineering studies or graduates.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Trade qualification will be highly regarded.
• Able to work on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and basic repairs (lighting, wallpaper, plumbing).
• Coordinate with departments on status and estimated repair times.
• Inspect machinery spaces and report anomalies to the Maintenance/ Duty Manager.
• Initiate cleaning for balcony furniture and sandstone tiles.
