Details: Transport Canberra is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lube and Safety Inspector to join our dynamic workshop team and play a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of our fleet.
In this hands‑on leadership role, you will be responsible for supervising Workshop Trade Assistants, coordinating and allocating daily workloads, and ensuring servicing and maintenance activities are completed efficiently to support operational requirements. You will also oversee workshop housekeeping standards and contribute to a safe, productive and professional working environment.
As the Lube and Safety Inspector, you will utilise and maintain workshop management systems, conduct roadworthy inspections, and ensure vehicles meet all safety, serviceability and compliance requirements. The role also involves providing technical advice and guidance to workshop staff, as well as preparing reports relating to fleet maintenance, vehicle condition, and accident‑related matters for a diverse range of stakeholders across Transport Canberra.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with a strong understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance practices, vehicle safety standards and roadworthiness requirements. The successful applicant will possess demonstrated experience in supervising staff, coordinating workloads, and fostering positive working relationships through well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills.
