Algorithmic Trading Company in Sydney seeks a Network Engineer to design, optimize and operate ultra-low-latency WANs across global data centers. The role combines on-site trading day presence with weekend work, including 12-hour shifts that can be done from home on weekends.

You will collaborate with global teams to maintain reliability and push automation and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate has strong IP networking, BGP routing, Linux scripting and a track record in high-performance

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of IP networking and TCP/IP.
• Strong experience with switching, routing (BGP) and multicast (IGMP, PIM).
• Solid Linux administration and scripting abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; global team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, locate, diagnose and resolve network issues across the Network Infra.
• Communicate impact of issues to traders, developers and staff.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to optimize network infrastructure for ultra-low-latency trading applications.
• Adopt data-driven automation to diagnose and fix complex network problems.
• Support and troubleshoot a hybrid wired/wireless network environment.
• Apply DevOps approaches to improve efficiency of network management and trading app maintenance.
• Document new processes to improve team efficiency.
• Maintain high energy, deliver under pressure, meet tight deadlines.
