Job summary

Simplot is seeking a Logistics Specialist for our International Operations team based at Chifley Park, Mentone VIC. You will coordinate export operations across our Oceania network, ensuring compliant and efficient movement of products to global markets.

You will work with manufacturing sites, warehouses, freight providers, government authorities, planning teams and international customers to keep supply chains running smoothly, with a focus on inventory deployment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing export operations in FMCG, food manufacturing or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of export documentation, compliance requirements and international shipping processes.
• Experience with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers and international customers.
• Exposure to inventory deployment, replenishment planning or broader supply chain activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end export operations across our Oceania network.
• Plan and coordinate export shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Prepare and manage export documentation, certifications and permit requirements.
• Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including major customers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and internal teams.
• Develop and communicate inventory deployment plan to manufacturing plants, warehouses and 3PL providers.
• Maintain system parameters to align inventory planning with logistics service and cost objectives.
• Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

About Our Role

International Operations | Chifley Park, Mentone VIC | Global Food Supply Chain

We're excited to offer a Logistics Specialist opportunity within Simplot's dynamic International Logistics team.

This is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating export operations across our international supply chain network, ensuring our products move efficiently and compliantly to customers across global markets. You'll work closely with manufacturing sites, warehouses, freight providers, government authorities, planning teams and international customers to keep our supply chain running smoothly.

While export operations will be your primary focus, you'll also support inventory deployment and replenishment activities, helping ensure stock is positioned in the right locations to meet customer demand and supply chain objectives. You'll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process optimisation and broader supply chain performance across the network.

What You'll Do

• Manage and support end-to-end export operations across our Oceania network
• Plan and coordinate export shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
• Prepare and manage export documentation, certifications and permit requirements
• Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including major customers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and internal teams
• Develop and communicate inventory deployment plan to manufacturing plants, warehouses and 3PL providers
• Maintain system parameters to align inventory planning with logistics service and cost objectives, factoring in product seasonality, sales segmentation, supply alternatives, logistics constraints and MLOR requirements
• Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

About You

• Proven experience managing export operations within an FMCG, food manufacturing, export trading or international logistics environment
• Strong understanding of export documentation, compliance requirements and international shipping processes
• Experience working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers and international customers
• Exposure to inventory deployment, replenishment planning or broader supply chain activities
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE or similar supply chain/logistics platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on improving processes and efficiencies
