Job summary

The Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne is seeking a Logistics Officer (Supply) to support the installation, upgrading and maintenance of field equipment by managing receipt, storage and issue of assets from a Central Location.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will apply strong supply chain skills to unload, receive, store, distribute equipment across Australia and internationally, while complying with OH&S and SAP-based logistics processes.

Qualifications

• Forklift license LF is mandatory.
• Experience operating mechanical handling equipment safely and efficiently is required.
• Knowledge of warehouse OH&S guidelines and safe handling of hazardous substances is expected.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, issue and despatch assets and materials from the central location.
• Identify, label and track inventory locations and ensure proper packaging and labelling for despatch.
• Prepare and process logistics documents and maintain records in SAP.
• Coordinate with freight providers to plan distribution locally, nationally and overseas.
