Job summary

AAco's Aronui Feedlot near Dalby is seeking a Livestock Hand to perform day-to-day cattle operations, including induction, pen riding, hospital treatment, and preparation for dispatch. You will ride horses to monitor health, draft sick animals, record identifications and treatments using the information system, and maintain hygiene and compliance with welfare standards.

Previous feedlot experience is preferred; basic horsemanship is required; this is a permanent role with on-site duties and

Qualifications

• Experience in livestock handling and cattle operations preferred.
• Ability to ride and control horses in a feedlot environment.
• Knowledge of cattle welfare and husbandry practices.
• Basic record-keeping and use of information systems for cattle data.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day livestock operations, including induction and dispatch preparation.
• Ride horses to monitor animal health and movement in pens.
• Identify and treat sick cattle and route to hospital area.
• Record animal identifications, weights and treatments in the information system.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance with WHS, QA and environmental standards.
