Brent Street Pty. is seeking a warm, reliable Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny to support a household and care for an 18-month-old son. The role covers early mornings and evenings, household management, tidying, laundry, cooking, and occasional travel.

You will also provide weekend childcare when needed and adapt to changing schedules. Flexibility, discretion and reliability are essential. The position offers private accommodation and opportunities to travel, with a total salary of $80,000 per year

Job description

We are looking for a warm, reliable, easy-going and highly organised Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny to support our household and help care for our 18-month-old son.

A nanny works weekdays from 9am to 5pm, so this additional live-in role focuses on early mornings and evenings, household management, tidying and organisation, weekend childcare, cooking for the family and occasional travel. Flexibility, discretion and adaptability are essential.

Outside your dedicated childcare hours, you will be responsible for the housekeeping duties listed below.

Example Schedule

The role is 40 hours per week. Your specific hours will change from week to week depending on the parents’ work schedule, with one week’s notice given. The schedule below is an example only.

Wednesday to Friday

Weekend hours depend on the parents’ schedule and usually follow one of two patterns:

• A split shift, 6am to 9am and then afternoon into evening
• A full day, 9am to 5pm, when the parents are working

Flexibility

You will need to be flexible with schedule changes, evenings, occasional extra hours and travel. When a parent is available to take over childcare, you can use that time to keep working through household tasks during your shift.

Days off: Monday and Tuesday

Daily light cleaning

• Kitchen surfaces, dishes, dishwasher and light sweeping
• Bedroom tidying and bed making
• Living area organisation and vacuuming
• Sanitising and resetting baby areas
• Weekly deep clean, if you are comfortable doing it (otherwise a cleaner is booked weekly)

Laundry and ironing

• Washing, drying, folding and storing clothes and linens for the household and baby
• Ironing household clothing, priority garments first

Cooking

• Meal preparation for the household and toddler
• Food prep, snacks and basic cooking support
• Kitchen clean-up after meals

Household Management

• Monitoring household supplies and supporting grocery restocking
• Receiving deliveries and organising storage
• Reporting maintenance issues

Travel Support

• Accompanying the family on domestic and/or international travel as required
• Providing childcare and household support while away
