Thales Australia is seeking an experienced IT professional to join our corporate team. You will manage and maintain Linux servers, storage (SAN/NAS), and virtualization (VMware), ensuring reliability for our CIC-driven product offerings and cross‑functional services.

This role requires hands-on automation (Ansible, Python), security hardening, backup/recovery, ITIL-aligned processes, and active collaboration with development, security, and procurement to keep Thales systems secure and performing

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux server experience incl. install, admin & hardening.
• Windows Server & LDAP/AD knowledge.
• Strong networking basics & performance tuning.
• VMware virtualization & SAN storage experience.
• Automation/IaC with Ansible, Python, or similar.
• Security hardening, backup/recovery, and DR capabilities.
• Familiarity with ITIL Change/Incident/Problem processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers across dev/test/prod.
• Manage server lifecycle: provisioning, patching, upgrades, decommissioning.
• Develop automation to streamline operations (Ansible, Python).
• Automate deployments, CM, and maintenance tasks.
• Implement security hardening and remediation.
• Support backup, recovery, and DR processes.
• Operate within ITIL framework for changes and incidents.
