Job summary

Payless Tyres & Brakes Forestville, operated by Oppieup Pty Ltd, is seeking a qualified light vehicle technician to inspect, diagnose, service and repair a range of light vehicles in a busy workshop.

You will identify mechanical and electrical faults, carry out preventative maintenance and ensure work meets manufacturer specifications. A Certificate III is required and an IV is highly regarded; NSW driving licence would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent automotive trade qualification.
• Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnostics or equivalent is highly regarded.
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience in light vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Experience in tyre, brake, steering and suspension services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles, including engines and suspensions.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Diagnose petrol and diesel engine components, fuel delivery, ignition and cooling systems.
• Dismantle, inspect and replace defective components such as transmissions and drive shafts.
• Inspect and repair braking, steering and suspension systems, including hydraulics and shocks.
• Carry out tyre inspections, fitting and wheel balancing as required.
• Use diagnostic scanners and testing equipment to rectify faults and verify repairs.
• Maintain servicing records and coordinate parts and repair requirements with safety compliance.
