Job summary

Our Lady of Mercy College Heidelberg is seeking an enthusiastic Library Technician to join our Learning Commons. The successful applicant will support a vibrant library program that fosters curiosity, information literacy and lifelong learning for the school community.

A Diploma of Library and Information Services (or equivalent) is desirable, with a start date of 18 January 2027. The position is a 12-month fixed term, 0.6 FTE, aligned with Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.

Qualifications

• Interest in young adult literature is an advantage.
• Desirable Diploma in Library & Information Services or equivalent.
• Able to work with students and staff in a learning-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Support library services as part of the Learning Commons team.

A Diploma of Library and Information Services (or equivalent) is desirable.

Start date: 18 January 2027

Terms: 12 months Fixed Term, 0.6 FTE

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022, Category C, Level 3. Dependent upon qualifications and experience.

All candidates must provide evidence of having the right to live and work in Australia. Education Support Staff must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check and undergo a new National Police Record Check.

Applicants are required to provide the names and contact details of three professional referees who can speak to their suitability for the position and, where relevant, their suitability to work with children and young people. At least one referee must be the applicant's current Principal, employer or direct supervisor.
