About the Role

The Library Officer (Patron Engagement) plays an important role in supporting the University’s learning, teaching and research activities through the delivery of high-quality frontline customer service. Working across a variety of service channels, you will assist students and staff in accessing library resources, navigating University systems and making the most of Library spaces and services.

As the Library Officer (Patron Engagement), you will also be responsible for:

• Providing excellent customer service through phone, email and face-to-face enquiries.
• Assisting students and staff to access and use Library resources, services and spaces.
• Supporting students with Learning Management System enquiries and referring complex matters to specialist teams.
• Creating engaging social media content and contributing to initiatives that improve the user experience.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to “Changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters”, by 2035 through delivering responsive and accessible library services that support student success, learning and engagement across the University community. By fostering a student-centred approach and collaborating closely with colleagues to reduce barriers to information, resources and services, this role embodies the Flinders values of being Student Centric and Stronger Together.
