UniSC Library Services invites applications for a Liaison Librarian to provide specialist advice to students, academics and researchers. You will partner with Schools to support learning, teaching and research through tailored services and digital literacy initiatives.

The role covers Open Education Resources, scholarly communication, GenAI and research support, helping shape library resources and building partnerships across the University for innovative services that advance student success.

Qualifications

• Degree in library or information-related discipline with relevant experience or equivalent education/training
• Experience building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across teams and disciplines
• Ability to develop and deliver discipline-specific information and digital literacy training in higher education
• Strong understanding of library services, scholarly communication, research impact, learning and teaching systems
• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills; strong project management
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and cloud-based collaboration tools; knowledge of Australian copyright law in higher education

Level 6, $95,986 - $103,873 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation

Full-time (36.25 hours per week), ongoing appointment

The Opportunity

UniSC Library Services is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Liaison Librarian to provide specialist advice and support to students, academics and researchers across the University. Working closely with Schools and academic teams, you will contribute to information and digital literacy, learning, teaching and research support, while helping shape library resources and services to meet the evolving needs of our University community.

This is a diverse opportunity to contribute across areas including Open Education Resources, scholarly communication, publication strategies, research impact and systematic reviews, as well as supporting the effective and responsible use of generative AI (GenAI). You will build strong partnerships across the University and contribute to innovative library services that enhance student success and support academic and research outcomes.

You will

• partner with Schools and academic teams to support learning, teaching and research through tailored library services, resources and expertise;
• develop and deliver discipline-specific information and digital literacy initiatives that strengthen student and staff capabilities; and
• contribute to the continued development of innovative, sustainable and digitally enabled library services, including the responsible use of emerging technologies such as GenAI.

About you

You are a collaborative and innovative library professional who enjoys building strong relationships and working alongside academics, researchers and students. You bring a strong understanding of the higher education library environment, excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your expertise to emerging technologies and changing learning, teaching and research needs.

You will possess:

• A degree qualification in a library or information-related discipline with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training and eligibility for professional membership of ALIA.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver discipline-specific information and digital literacy training within a higher education environment.
• A strong understanding of library and information services, scholarly communication, research impact, learning, teaching and research systems and processes, including bibliographic management software.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, together with strong organisational and project management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt within a digital environment, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and cloud-based collaborative technologies, with an understanding of Australian copyright legislation in the higher education sector.
