Job summary

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network in Westmead is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Hospital Westmead in a rotational Level 1/2 position. You will provide evidence-based occupational therapy to inpatients and outpatients within a multidisciplinary and family-centred context.

Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration, postgraduate paediatric experience, and strong communication and time management skills are required to thrive

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Occupational Therapy Department at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a rotational Level 1/2 position. Rotations currently offered include inpatient rehabilitation, general medical/surgical, cardiac and critical care, oncology and hand therapy.

This position is separate to our dedicated 2-year New Graduate position, which will be advertised shortly.

What you’ll be doing

The occupational therapist will provide clinical services to inpatients and/or outpatients referred for Occupational Therapy. The occupational therapist will provide evidence based care within a multidisciplinary and family centred context, and utilise holistic occupational therapy models of care. Participation and leadership is expected in ongoing education, teaching, research, evidence based practice and quality improvement activities.
The Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist will contribute to:

• Planning, development and evaluation of occupational therapy services.
• Development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and practice guidelines for patient care.
• Liaison with community-based services as relevant to the patient population
