Job summary

Uniting Pacifica Nambucca Heads is seeking a part-time Leisure & Wellness Coordinator to support residents with tailored activities and meaningful engagement. The role involves 64 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work and shifts ranging from 8am to 4:30pm or 8am to 3pm.

You will lead the activity program, coordinate staff, and ensure residents can participate and benefit from leisure activities. Desirable qualifications include a Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged or community care preferred
• Ability to plan and lead activity programs
• Strong communication with residents, staff and carers

About Uniting Pacifica, Nambucca Heads:

Uniting Pacifica Nambucca Heads is set across four storeys, each with resident bedrooms and communal spaces, including lounges, dining rooms, and kitchenettes. On the ground floor, there’s a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Leisure and Wellness Team ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview:

This is a permanent part-time position working 64 hours per fortnight between Monday to Friday with no weekends. The roster includes 3 shifts per week, two 8 hours shifts (8am to 4:30pm) and one 6-hour shift (8am to 3pm), with some flexibility to negotiable start and finish times.

You’ll provide care and companionship to residents and delivery innovative leisure and lifestyle activities that are specifically tailored and designed for the resident’s needs, interests and capabilities, these also include:

• Lead, guide and direct the staff with the planning of the program of activities, ensuring to liaise with team members, residents and carers.
• Ensure that all residents are able to be part of an activity program of interest and that they are capable of achieving the desired outcomes.
• Confirm activities program with the Manager with all details provided to include residents involved, timetable and resources organized.
• Ensure that all evaluation of activities, daily activity participation sheets and other paperwork is completed and that it reflects continuous improvement.
• Develop activities that account for previous interests and current capabilities that enhance their quality of life through their interest and hobbies.

What do we need you to bring:

• Previous experience in aged/community care or Lifestyle program in Aged Care (Desirable not mandatory)
• You’ll need to be resilient and resourceful, and be able to live our values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness every day.
• Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent qualifications or demonstrated competency in the knowledge required for this role. (Desirable not mandatory)
