Harvey Norman Holdings Limited is seeking a Legal Counsel – Corporate & Commercial to join the Corporate Office in Homebush West, Sydney, on site. You will deliver high-quality, strategic legal advice to the ASX-listed Company and its subsidiaries, supporting information technology, commercial terms, procurement, AML/CTF, privacy, and compliance matters.

Reporting to the General Manager of Legal & Company Secretarial, you will engage with senior management, draft and negotiate agreements,

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years' Post Admission Experience (PAE) as a qualified lawyer.
• Current, unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate or eligibility to acquire one.
• Strong drafting skills with ability to tailor communication to stakeholders.
• Able to manage multiple priorities, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Adaptable in a fast-paced environment with mentoring approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, strategic legal advice across corporate and commercial matters.
• Handle Information Technology contracts including master services and software licensing.
• Oversee commercial terms of supply, procurement activities, and finance arrangements.
• Address AML/CTF, gift card activities, and privacy/data governance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and corporate governance across the Company.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager of Legal & Company Secretarial and based onsite at the Corporate Office in Homebush West, you will act as a trusted advisor, delivering high-quality, strategic, and pragmatic legal advice to ASX listed company Harvey Norman Holdings Limited, and each subsidiary (the Company).

You will be exposed to a wide range of legal matters in this role— anything with a legal element may come across your desk.

You’ll engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management and executives, that will instruct on a range of matters that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Information Technology (Master Services Agreements, software licensing, IT project and development governance)
• Commercial terms of supply and purchase;
• Procurement activities;
• AMLCTF, gift card activities and finance arrangements;
• Privacy and data governance; and
• Compliance and regulatory compliance.

About you

You are a qualified Lawyer with post-admission experience, ideally gained within a reputable in-house legal firm. You demonstrate exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, along with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
