Job summary

Axiom is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to provide broad legal support across commercial and business matters. The role collaborates with internal stakeholders to offer practical legal advice, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, and advise on regulatory developments.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne on a 12-month max-term contract, with potential extension. The role focuses on commercial contracting, marketing and regulatory matters, and includes exploring AI-enabled solutions

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of PQE with Australian admission.
• Broad commercial contracting experience including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Strong commercial judgement and stakeholder management with the ability to provide clear, concise and practical advice.
• Comfortable leveraging AI and legal technology to improve service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice across commercial contracting, procurement, partnering and supply-chain matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate supplier, commercial, IP and licensing agreements.
• Advise on marketing, consumer law and regulatory matters, including monitoring legislative developments.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support business strategy, operations, projects and new initiatives.
• Work with external law firms and alternative legal service providers where required.
• Contribute to legal process improvement and AI-enabled solutions to enhance the team’s ways of working and service delivery.

The role will work closely with internal stakeholders to provide practical legal advice, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, support projects and new initiatives, and advise on relevant regulatory and legislative developments. The position will also contribute to improving legal processes and ways of working, including identifying and adopting AI-enabled solutions and emerging legal technology to enhance legal service delivery. The role is offered on a 12-month maximum-term contract, based in Sydney or Melbourne, with potential for extension subject to business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice acrosscommercial contracting, procurement, partnering and supply-chain matters
• Draft, review and negotiatesupplier, commercial, IP and licensing agreements
