Job Description

You will provide legal advice and strategic business guidance across SEEK's APAC operations spanning eight markets. This Legal Counsel role offers the opportunity to work autonomously whilst owning key stakeholder relationships across the SEEK Group.

You will demonstrate sound judgement in identifying and mitigating legal risks whilst ensuring our businesses remain proactively compliant. As part of our APAC legal team within Finance & Business Services, you will help develop legal resources and collaborate on key function outcomes.

Success in this role means becoming a trusted legal advisor who balances technical requirements with commercial considerations whilst supporting SEEK's mission to connect people with meaningful work opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements including partner, IT/software, service and marketing contracts
  • Advise on privacy, contracts, consumer competition, intellectual property and finance matters
  • Support Product, Strategy, Marketing, Sales and AI teams with legal guidance
  • Manage internal legal projects and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Supervise external legal providers and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Provide legal support to SEEK's overseas subsidiaries across APAC region
  • Develop legal resources and improve documentation processes
Qualifications
  • Current Australian Legal Practising Certificate or ability to secure one
  • Demonstrated experience (at least 5+ years PQE) at a top‑tier/boutique law firm or equivalent in‑house experience, with exposure to and experience in a range of corporate/commercial matters
  • Experience in corporate/commercial matters with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments
  • Autonomous working style with strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • IT/SaaS contracts, privacy legislation or online technology business experience preferred
