Job summary

Beyond Bank is seeking a commercially minded lawyer in Adelaide with around 3–4 years’ PQE to join our Adelaide-based Legal & Governance team. You will draft, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts, support regulatory and governance initiatives and provide pragmatic legal guidance to stakeholders across the business.

You’ll collaborate with risk, compliance, procurement, technology and operations teams, help shape policies, and contribute to a strong risk and compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Admission as a solicitor/barrister in an Australian jurisdiction (Essential).
• Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Experience in providing legal advice on complex legal and/or regulatory matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Energy, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to your work.
• Sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands, while maintaining attention to detail.

The Role

We're looking for a commercially minded lawyer to join our Adelaide based team. You will have around 3-4 years' PQE and want to build a genuinely broad in-house career and make an impact from day one.

No two days are the same. One day you'll be negotiating technology or supplier contracts, the next advising on a regulatory issue, supporting an AFCA matter, helping shape company policies or preparing papers for Board and Committee meetings.

Qualifications

About you

You're a lawyer with around 3-4 years' post-admission experience who is looking to take the next step in your career.

You've developed strong technical skills and are now looking for a role that offers greater variety, responsibility and exposure to business decision-making. You're commercially minded, curious by nature and eager to continue developing your skills.

Most importantly, you're someone who likes working with people. You don't rely solely on emails and legal memos. You're comfortable picking up the phone, asking questions, building relationships and partnering with your colleagues to understand what they’re trying to achieve. You know that the best solutions come from engagement, collaboration and practical problem solving.

You'll bring:
