Every rural doctor begins as a student. When medical students train in rural communities, they become part of those communities, caring for local patients, learning from local clinicians, and forming relationships that often shape where they choose to build their future careers. Our rural program is delivered predominantly face‑to‑face, to foster this critical early development.
UNSW’s Education Focussed (EF) roles enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialism will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
The role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, (EF) Discipline Lead General Practice, Rural will be committed to high-quality teaching with a strong focus on local rural medical education and coordination of the specified discipline.
