About the Role

The Lecturer in Exercise Science will be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of topics within the suite of undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses. This includes making an independent contribution to the review, renewal, development and design of curricula and courses that are attractive to existing and new cohorts of students.

The incumbent will also contribute to innovative research that aligns with the Caring Futures Institute (Australia's first fully dedicated research centre for the study of self-care and caring solutions). The role will provide a significant and high-quality research contribution to the Caring Futures Institute through collaboration, cross-disciplinary research activity, and the strengthening of existing and new partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. The lecturer will contribute to innovative research and evaluation through activities such as scholarship, quality publication, external grant acquisition and presentations.

About You

You have relevant and extensive contemporary experience in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology, with the demonstrated capacity to undertake high quality teaching in a tertiary environment, including experience in topic coordination and curriculum design.

You communicate with clarity and impact, using your interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with colleagues, students, industry partners and community stakeholders.

Your natural ability to collaborate and engage with relevant external professional domains will develop productive partnerships that can provide opportunities for students and promote graduate employability. Your keen attention to detail will allow you to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while always demonstrating a commitment to high quality service delivery.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Hold and or be eligible to maintain a current membership/registration with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.

  • Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area aligned with research strengths in Physiotherapy including evidence of quality publications and attraction of external competitive grants.

  • Understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship and practice.

  • Experience and successful track record in supervision of honours and higher degree students.

You will also have completed a PhD, or equivalent qualification in Exercise Sciences/Exercise Physiology or any one of the following in the attached position description.
