Monash University invites applications for a Lecturer (Midwifery – Education-focused) to design and deliver innovative education and advance midwifery training. The role supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, with a specialty in complex care midwifery within the Master of Advanced Midwifery.

The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, coordinate units, assess and mentor students, and collaborate with clinical partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral qualification in midwifery or nursing required.
• Postgraduate qualification in complex care midwifery and/or critical care nursing preferred.
• Current NMBA registration as Midwife or RN and Midwife required.

Responsabilités

• Design and deliver innovative, evidence-informed midwifery education.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a focus on complex care midwifery within the Master of Advanced Midwifery.

The Opportunity

Join Monash University as a Lecturer (Midwifery – Education-focused) and contribute to the design and delivery of innovative, evidence-informed education. This exciting opportunity will support the development of future midwives through engaging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, with a specialist focus on complex care midwifery within the Master of Advanced Midwifery.

The position will contribute to curriculum and unit development, teaching delivery, assessment and unit coordination across undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Through collaboration with clinical partners and academic colleagues, the role will foster inclusive, student-centred learning environments, enhance teaching practice and contribute to educational scholarship. There will also be opportunities to lead teaching initiatives, supervise postgraduate research and use student feedback to continually improve the learning experience.

We are seeking someone with a Master’s degree or doctoral qualification in midwifery or nursing, a postgraduate qualification in complex care midwifery and/or critical care nursing and current NMBA registration as a Midwife or Registered Nurse and Midwife. The ideal candidate will bring relevant clinical experience in complex care midwifery, tertiary or clinical teaching experience, curriculum development skills and a track record of educational or clinical leadership, supported by strong communication and collaboration skills, a commitment to scholarly activity and the ability to engage and motivate students.
