Job summary

University of Southern Queensland is inviting a Lecturer in Curriculum and Pedagogy – Contemporary Music and Education to join the School of Education and Creative Arts on a continuing basis. The role focuses on innovative curriculum design, high-quality teaching, and impactful research across Initial Teacher Education, Bachelor of Music and Master of Education programs.

Qualifications

• Doctoral or master's qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in the relevant discipline.
• Teacher registration within an Australian Authority or capacity to apply for teacher registration and working with children check.
• Demonstrated teaching and scholarly expertise in initial teacher education.
• Demonstrated professional experience and practice and/or teaching expertise in contemporary music.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering engaged and reflective approaches to teaching that produce the best possible outcomes for students.
• Demonstrated experience in engaging in scholarship of teaching and learning that provides the opportunity to collaborate with others, advances knowledge, and engages with industry.
• Showcase your ability to engage in research, collaborate with others, attract funding, and advance knowledge in the field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and reflective student-centred teaching methods across face-to-face and blended modes leveraging digital technologies.
• Conduct research activities that produce high-quality outputs and generate research income.
• Support the development of research teams and mentor HDR students.
• Contribute to a positive workplace and culture through internal service while also making significant external contributions to the community and profession.
• Actively engage in professional development activities and maintain currency in contemporary learning, teaching, and research approaches.
