Job summary

University of Adelaide is seeking a Level A/B Teaching Focused academic in Speech Pathology based at the City East campus. The role centers on course coordination, teaching and developing clinical placement opportunities for students.

The successful candidate will use contemporary professional knowledge, deliver teaching, supervise clinical activities and contribute to scholarly development in Speech Pathology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology or relevant discipline with eligibility for Practicing membership.
• Postgraduate qualification in Allied Health or Academic Practice relevant to the role.

• Based in the College of Health at the City East campus
• Full-time, Continuing Position
• Salary Range: (Level A) - $103,962 - $111,384 per annum, (Level B) $117,100 - $138,515per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

To be successful in a Level A Teaching Focused position, applicants will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, together with eligibility for Practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia and extensive professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise, knowledge and a commitment to the contemporary practice of Speech Pathology.
• Demonstrated ability to provide teaching and clinical supervision of Speech Pathology students and ability to actively engage and educate a student group.
• Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal ability, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a diverse team.

Desirable:

• Experience in higher education teaching and learning environment, and a range of teaching methodologies including Problem Based Learning in the teaching and learning process and proficiency in digital learning and course design.

To be successful in a Level B Teaching Focused position, applicants will need:

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent industry/discipline experience in Speech Pathology together with eligibility for Practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
• Clinical practice experience and leadership as a Speech Pathologist.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, flexible teaching and clinical supervision of Speech Pathology students and actively engage and educate a student group.
• Experience in higher education teaching and learning environment, and a range of teaching methodologies including Problem Based Learning in the teaching and learning process and proficiency in digital learning and course design.
• Demonstrated engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning and/or leadership in an area of clinical practice and translation of that to the educational setting.
• Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and external stakeholders, combined with cultural sensitivity.

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualification in Allied Health or Academic Practice relevant to the role.
