BUSY School Ipswich Campus is seeking a dedicated teacher to support class teachers in delivering personalised learning, monitor student learning needs, and engage disengaged students. The role is a permanent full-time position based at Ipswich Campus.

You will collaborate with families and external supports to maintain classroom expectations and re-engage students, employing behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment. This is a rewarding role within The BUSY Group.

Qualifications

• A valid teaching qualification.
• Full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland.
• Ability to work within the secondary education curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in implementing personalised learning practices.
• Identify and monitor students with learning difficulties via standardised testing in consultation with staff, families and external supports.
• Re-engage students through building strong respectful relationships and applying behaviour management in the classroom.

The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation with nearly 50 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, NDIS, disability employment support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.

Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 12.

Job Description

About the position...

Based at our Ipswich Campus, your role will be to support class teachers in the implementation of personalised learning practices, and where necessary identify and monitor students with learning difficulties via standardised testing and in consultation with staff, families and external supports. You will re-engage students through building strong respectful relationships with a range of students while utilising behaviour management techniques to maintain the expectations of the classroom.

This role is permanent full-time role.
