Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with identified learning needs under the direction of a teacher, contributing to learning outcomes.

You will support student welfare and wellbeing activities, and may work in streams such as pre-school, vision or hearing support, or bilingual settings depending on needs. Aboriginal perspectives are valued in the role.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance
• Mandatory training as required by the Department of Education
• Administration of Medications training
• Health support training as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide support for students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher supervision.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Support specific streams/settings: pre-school, vision, hearing, bilingual as applicable.
