Job summary

Bayside Council is looking for an aquatics instructor to plan and deliver learn to swim and water safety lessons across various programs. You will support the Aquatic Programs team and advise on swimming instruction and safety matters.

The role involves implementing tailored programs, maintaining equipment and storage areas, and providing regular participant reports to the Aquatic Programs Supervisor. Current Austswim certificates and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification required.
• Austswim Teacher of Infant and Pre-School certification required.
• Current CPR/Resuscitation certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct learn to swim and water safety lessons.
• Support the Aquatic Programs team and advise on swimming instruction and safety matters.
• Implement programs according to student needs and ensure proper planning and resources.
• Maintain equipment and cleanliness of storage areas; set up and stow away equipment as required.
• Prepare regular reports on participants for the Aquatic Programs Supervisor.

Job description

Plan and conduct learn to swim and water safety lessons for a range of Aquatics Programs to meet the varying needs and abilities of participants, groups and squads.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Aquatic Programs team and assist in advising on matters relating to swimming instruction/swim coaching and other safety matters.
• Implement programs according to the needs of the students to ensure adequate planning and availability of resources.
• Maintain equipment, cleanliness of the storage area and setting up and putting away of all equipment as required.
• Prepare and provide regular reports and updates on participants to the Aquatic Programs Supervisor.

What you need

• Current Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent.
• Current Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Infant and Pre-School or equivalent.
• Current CPR/Resuscitation Certificate.
