Job description

Lead Veterinarian | Brighton Vet | Full Time or Part Time
A few minutes from the beach, a genuinely lovely team and the chance to shape a clinic you’re proud to call your own.

Picture this: you arrive in the morning, coffee in hand, and check in with the team about the day ahead. One of the vets wants to bounce a case off you, a nurse has an idea to make the day run more smoothly, and everyone is happy to share their thoughts and lend a hand.

You spend most of your day doing what you love - consulting, operating and caring for patients - but you’re also the person the team can turn to for guidance, encouragement or a second opinion.

That’s what leadership looks like at Brighton Vet. You won’t be stuck behind a desk or expected to have all the answers. You’ll work alongside the team, helping good people become even better while continuing to grow as a vet yourself.

A team ready for its next chapter

Brighton Vet has a close-knit team of veterinarians and highly skilled nurses who care deeply about their patients, clients and each other.

Working closely with the team, including our incredible Head Nurse, Zoye, you’ll help shape the clinic’s direction, strengthen clinical standards and create an environment where people feel heard and supported.

“Brighton Vet is inclusive, fun and always striving to be better. There’s a genuine sense of teamwork and support, and we understand and value the important role each of us plays. Even on the hard days, we can still find a reason to laugh and wear a smile. Someone who is passionate about what we do and genuinely excited to teach, learn and grow would thrive here.”

Zoye, Head Nurse

You’ll remain hands-on across consults, surgery and case management. The caseload is predominantly small animal, with the occasional wildlife case, supported by modern imaging, endoscopy and a well-equipped clinical environment.

Here’s what’s on the table
  • Salary package up to $170,000
  • Relocation assistance of up to $10,000, plus one month’s accommodation
  • Flexible full-time or part-time options
  • No after-hours or public holiday work
  • $2,000 annual CPD allowance
  • One week of paid study leave
  • Free courses and workshops through our Veterinary Training Centre
  • Paid parental leave, wellbeing support and an Employee Assistance Program
  • Discounts across groceries, fuel, health insurance, entertainment and pet care
Plus, a $30,000 Bonus

For eligible candidates, the bonus is paid across three milestones:

  • $10,000 after 6 months
  • $10,000 after 18 months
  • $10,000 after 30 months

That’s $30,000 to use however you choose - whether that’s reducing student debt, investing in your future or booking that dream holiday.

You’ll be supported to grow, too

You’ll receive ongoing mentorship from our Vet Manager and support from experienced veterinary and clinical leaders across the VetPartners network.

Whether you want to develop your leadership skills, explore a clinical interest or talk through a challenging case, you’ll always have someone in your corner.

Considering a move to Australia?

Brighton Vet is just four minutes from the coastline in Perth’s northern suburbs, where beach walks, sunset swims and relaxed coastal evenings can become part of everyday life - all within easy reach of Perth’s vibrant city centre.

For eligible international candidates, visa sponsorship and relocation support are available, including up to $10,000 plus one month’s accommodation. Our team can also help guide you through the process of making Australia home.

Could this be you?

You’re an experienced, compassionate vet who enjoys bringing people together and helping others grow. You’re approachable, happy to talk through a case and believe the best teams are built through trust, honest conversations and collaboration.

You’ll ideally bring at least five years of clinical experience and some experience mentoring or supporting other vets. You may already be a leader, or you might be an experienced clinician ready for your next step.

You’ll also hold a BVSc, DVM or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia and be registered, or eligible to register, with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Western Australia.

The feel of a local clinic, with a bigger team behind you

As part of VetPartners, Brighton Vet offers the connection and autonomy of a local clinic, backed by the support and shared expertise of a wider veterinary network.
