Job summary

The Australian Taxation Office is seeking Law Interpretation Officers for roles across Law Design and Practice (LDP), the Compliance and Engagement Group (CEG), and Frontline Operations (FO). You will apply relevant law and policy expertise to solve complex taxation matters by undertaking comprehensive research, analysis and interpretation to inform advice, recommendations and decisions.

You will also lead and mentor junior staff to develop capabilities and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake complex legal and policy research and interpretation to inform advice and decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior staff and share knowledge with the team.
• Collaborate with Commonwealth, tax, legal and community stakeholders to resolve disputes and inform policy.
