Job summary

SchoolHouse is partnering with a co-educational day and boarding Prep-Year 12 school in Gordonvale, Far North Queensland, seeking a committed boarding supervisor. You will lead the girls’ boarding house, supervise students, and coordinate welfare and wellbeing during shifts.

Responsibilities include pastoral care, ensuring safe routines, and reporting to the Head of Boarding in a culturally respectful environment that values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.

Qualifications

  • Blue Card (Working With Children Check) or ability to obtain.
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to complete prior to commencement).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and make sound decisions during a shift.
  • Calm, confident presence when supporting adolescent girls.
  • Organised, reliable and able to maintain structure and routine.
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Experience in residential care, youth work or boarding (highly regarded).

  • Oversee shift operations and hold primary responsibility for the welfare, safety and supervision of students in residence
  • Ensure daily routines are delivered smoothly and the residential environment remains safe, orderly and supportive of independence and life-skills development
  • Provide consistent pastoral care and wellbeing support to students throughout the shift
  • Support students in a culturally respectful environment, with an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives
  • Report directly to the Head of Boarding
