Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in Australia. You will lead structural design for complex water and wastewater projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with clients to deliver high-quality outcomes.

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will oversee technical delivery, balance schedule and budget, and contribute to business development while upholding safety and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Proven experience in structural engineering.
• Leading technical delivery and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards and software SpaceGass/Strand7.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered (CPEng/RPEQ) registration is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead throughout the project lifecycle from bids and concept design to detailed design and construction support.
• Balance technical quality with programme and budget, applying sound engineering judgement.
• Build trusted client and project-team relationships and provide technical guidance.
• Support business development through proposals and technical input.
