Job summary

Belgravia Leisure is seeking a dynamic Sous Chef to lead the hospitality operations at the East Fremantle Community Park, a new landmark venue with a bar, cafe, function centre, fitness facilities, and outdoor greens in East Fremantle.

You will report to the Head Chef, oversee kitchen operations, mentor a diverse team, and drive food quality, costing, and presentation while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
• Relevant professional certifications in kitchen operations or hospitality
• Knowledge of food costing, menu planning, and kitchen management
• Strong leadership and organisational skills to manage a diverse team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with staff, guests, and suppliers
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a high‑volume environment
• National Police Check

Responsibilities

• Hands-on food preparation and supervision of kitchen operations
• Oversee food quality control, menu development, and presentation standards
• Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff for optimal performance
• Collaborate with internal teams (kitchen, bar, operations, marketing) to ensure high-quality service and venue success
• Manage food costs, budgets, and profitability while meeting revenue targets
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, innovations, and best practices
• Assist with front-of-house operations and function service as required
