Job summary

Lumus Imaging is seeking a Lead Sonographer to combine hands-on scanning with leadership. You will manage a team of sonographers, deliver CPD programs and mentor junior staff while maintaining high-quality patient care across a diverse caseload.

Join a respected network of imaging professionals and partner with Radiologists to drive excellence in ultrasound services and training opportunities within our NSW sites.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in medical imaging or equivalent.
• Current ASAR accreditation.
• Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
• Australian or NZ work rights.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of ultrasound studies: general, MSK, vascular, obstetrics, small parts and interventional.
• Lead and mentor a team of sonographers, from new graduate training to upskilling experienced staff.
• Develop and deliver sonographer training and CPD programs.
• Educate referrers and present clinical information across formats.
• Champion quality, patient care and positive change within the team.
• Collaborate with Radiologists and clinic staff to keep workflow running smoothly.

About the role

As Lead Sonographer, you'll combine hands-on scanning with genuine leadership. Your day will include:

• Performing a broad range of studies across general, MSK, vascular, obstetrics, small parts and interventional ultrasound
• Managing and mentoring a team of sonographers, from one-on-one training of new graduates to upskilling experienced colleagues
• Developing and delivering sonographer training and CPD programs
• Educating referrers and presenting clinical information across a range of formats
• Championing quality, patient care and positive change within the team
• Collaborating closely with Radiologists and clinic staff to keep workflow running smoothly

About you

• Extensive ultrasound experience across musculoskeletal, vascular, general, obstetrics and interventional imaging
• Previous leadership experience managing a team of sonographers
• A natural mentor with experience training beginner sonographers, developing training programs and delivering CPD
• Confident communicator, comfortable presenting and sharing knowledge through a variety of media
• Skilled at prioritising busy workloads, working both independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solver with a genuine commitment to quality and patient care

Qualifications & requirements

• Recognised qualification in medical imaging, or equivalent
• Current ASAR accreditation
• Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Appropriate Australian or New Zealand work rights
