Job summary

The Trustee for the Byrne No. 2 Trust – Bundaberg Central QLD is seeking a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer (Psychiatrist - Intellectual and Developmental Disability) to provide expert psychiatric care for patients with an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder.

The role is predominantly a Consultation Liaison position with potential direct patient care within an IDD team.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert Psychiatric care assessment and management of patients with an intellectual disability or on the autism spectrum.
• This role will predominantly be a Consultation Liaison role to community and inpatient teams and may also include a small cohort of direct patient care, as part of an Intellectual and Developmental Disability team.
• Provide professional leadership in the area of Mental Health within a multidisciplinary environment.
