Job summary

Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation at The University of Queensland invites applications for a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow in Plant Genome Editing. You will lead a research program in crop biotechnology and gene editing, targeting cereals and forage crops, while collaborating across disciplines.

The role emphasizes externally funded research, translation of findings, and supervision of honours and HDR students within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• PhD in crop biotechnology, plant molecular genetics, plant gene editing or a closely related field.
• Growing or established research profile in crop biotechnology and gene editing.
• Strong record of publications and conference presentations.
• Experience designing and delivering research programs and obtaining external funding.
• Supervision experience with Honours and HDR students.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent and collaborative research program in crop biotechnology and gene editing.
• Seek and manage external research funding; translate knowledge to impact.
• Supervise Honours and HDR students and develop researcher capability.
• Build partnerships across university, industry, government and community.
