Job summary

JPMorganChase in Sydney is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the APAC Payments Production Management team within CIB Technology. You will be a core technical contributor, building, delivering and supporting trusted market-leading software in a secure, scalable environment.

In an agile setting, you will tackle real-time payment platforms across Australia and regional markets, applying AI-assisted engineering to boost code quality, delivery speed, and incident management while ensuring

Qualifications

Autonomy and ownership with minimal supervision.
Industry knowledge of financial services is useful.
Experience with real-time, cross-border and payment products is beneficial.
Familiarity with Australia payments systems: NPP, BECS, RBA RITS RTGS; APAC schemes.
Knowledge of ISO 20022 and scheme SLAs/cutoffs.
Experience in 24x7 production environments and incident management is a plus.

Responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions and develops techniques to troubleshoot complex problems.
Develops secure, high-quality production code and conducts code reviews and debugging.
Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, speed, and operations.
Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted automation to increase value and efficiency.
Identifies and automates recurring issues to improve stability.
Leads evaluation sessions on architecture designs and applicability to existing systems.
Oversees production incidents with prompt engagement and clear communication across teams.
Gains practical cloud-native experience.
