Job summary

Red Hat, Inc. invites an experienced OpenShift consultant to lead end-to-end engagements for Australian Government customers from discovery to handover.

You will act as a trusted technical voice, mentoring customer engineers and shaping engagements with our sales teams. You will design and implement OpenShift solutions integrated with networks, storage, security, identity, and monitoring, including air-gapped and PROTECTED contexts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical consulting, professional services, or platform architecture.
• 3+ years running Kubernetes or OpenShift in production.
• Deep hands-on OpenShift Container Platform expertise.
• Strong Kubernetes fundamentals: workload, networking, RBAC, operator pattern.
• Design for high availability, scalability and security.
• Infrastructure fundamentals: networking, storage, Linux systems.
• Automation as code and scripting in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Australian citizenship and NV1+ security clearance; on-site Canberra base.

Responsibilities

• Lead Red Hat Consulting engagements end to end from discovery to handover.
• Act as subject matter expert for OpenShift at customer sites.
• Design and implement OpenShift solutions with integration to existing infra.
• Deliver in Australian Government security contexts (PROTECTED+); air-gapped environments.
• Mentor customer engineers and enable containerisation and platform operations.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows for auditable delivery.
• Provide technical leadership for upgrades, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Coordinate team of consultants on larger engagements and support presales.
