Evolution Mining is seeking a Senior Mineralogist to lead the day-to-day operation of the mineralogy laboratory at Northparkes Operations in New South Wales. You will provide data-driven insights to processing, mining, exploration and marketing teams, enabling safe, efficient and optimised production outcomes.

You will also mentor technical professionals and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Experience in process mineralogy, ore characterisation and sulphide flotation operations.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and effective operation of the mineralogy laboratory and foster a strong Zero Harm culture.
• Manage laboratory workflows, project scopes, scheduling and delivery to ensure timely, high-quality results.
• Generate, analyse and interpret mineralogical data, providing technical recommendations to optimise plant performance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to metallurgical, operational, mining and exploration teams.
• Mentor, train and develop team capability while promoting awareness of mineralogical applications across the business.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement and method development within the laboratory.
• Oversee instrument utilisation, maintenance, troubleshooting and quality assurance processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve process performance, efficiency and reliability.

What's the opportunity?

As the Senior Mineralogist, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the mineralogy laboratory, delivering critical technical support to processing operations, mining, exploration and marketing teams. Working closely with metallurgical, laboratory and operational stakeholders, you will provide data-driven insights that support safe, efficient and optimised production outcomes. You will also play a key role in developing laboratory capability, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring a team of technical professionals.
