Job summary

Office of Industrial Relations QLD in Brisbane is seeking a Lead Inspector to provide operational leadership within the Labour Hire Licensing Compliance Unit. This temporary 12-month opportunity combines hands-on audits and investigations with team management to drive fair, compliant outcomes.

You will mentor inspectors, steer risk assessments, and deliver defensible reports and prosecutions when required, while building strong stakeholder relationships across government and industry.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing teams in regulatory settings.
• Strong ability to interpret legislation and apply investigative techniques.
• Proven track record in risk assessment, complex audits or investigations.
• Ability to prepare complex reports and provide defensible recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, mentor and coach inspectors to deliver audits and investigations.
• Manage complex compliance matters under the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017.
• Provide expert advice on risk, compliance and enforcement issues.
• Prepare and review complex reports and prosecution briefs as required.
• Build relationships with industry, government and internal stakeholders.
