Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal or Associate Director level Hydraulic Engineer to lead hydraulic design for building projects in Brisbane or Sydney. You will guide delivery, review calculations, and mentor junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasises client engagement, cost-effective solutions, and contributing to national hydraulics initiatives while supporting sustainable building outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ideally 10+ years’ hydraulic engineering experience in consulting.
• Engineering degree or TAFE qualification with RPEQ/RPEV registration.
• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Revit experience preferred.
• Citizenship pathway to Australian citizenship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Hydraulics Lead on a range of projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Lead hydraulic designs and calculations, with reviews and sign-off.
• Engage clients and stakeholders to define project requirements and constraints.
• Support the national Hydraulics team across projects and sectors.
• Deliver a broad range of hydraulic design services including rainwater harvesting, drainage, and water systems.
