The University of Sydney seeks a Senior Engineer Supervisor for the Sydney Manufacturing Hub’s G08 Large-format Additive Manufacturing Node. You will lead operations, ensure safety, and enable high‑impact research and industry collaboration.

This role requires postgraduate engineering qualifications, proven facility leadership, and deep experience with additive manufacturing. You will manage staff, budgets, compliance and engage partners to translate capability into industry impact.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in engineering, manufacturing, materials, or a related discipline.
• Experience managing research facilities or advanced technical environments.
• Strong knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies and applications.
• Proven leadership of teams and staff performance.
• Commitment to safety, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• oversee the day-to-day operations of the SMH G08 facility, ensuring services, infrastructure and resources effectively support research and industry related activities
• provide expert technical advice and support to researchers, students and industry partners using advanced manufacturing technologies and equipment
• lead industry engagement initiatives, identify opportunities for collaboration and deliver projects that create value for external partners
• manage facility expenditure, procurement activities and equipment maintenance to ensure efficient and sustainable operations
• ensure compliance with work health and safety requirements, risk management processes and relevant legislative obligations
• oversee facility documentation, reporting, data management and security requirements to support operational and regulatory compliance
• provide leadership, coaching and development support to technical staff while contributing to the strategic growth of the Sydney Manufacturing Hub
