Job summary

Randstad in Australia is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive design, development, and support of robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter and IDMC across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.

You will partner with architects, establish engineering standards, focus on performance, security, and observability, and apply AI-first techniques to automate coding, data mappings, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience with Informatica PowerCenter and IDMC (Cloud Data Integration).
• Strong SQL skills with large, complex relational datasets.
• Experience designing and supporting high-volume, time-critical batch data pipelines.
• Practical exposure to Git and Bitbucket for version control.
• A degree in Computer Science or closely related field with a software engineering major.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support robust ETL/ELT pipelines across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Act as SME for Informatica and IDMC, defining engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Engineer for non-functional excellence: reliability, security, performance, observability, and operability.

What You Will Do:

• Design, develop, and support robust data integration solutions using Informatica IDMC across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

• Act as the subject matter expert for Informatica and IDMC, actively defining engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.

• Partner closely with architects and key stakeholders to support critical cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.

• Engineer for non-functional excellence, ensuring optimal system reliability, security, performance, observability, and operability.

• Apply an AI-first approach to automate coding, testing, data mappings, orchestration, and documentation processes.

What You Need to Apply for This Role:

• Expert-level experience with Informatica PowerCenter and IDMC (Cloud Data Integration, Cloud Application Integration, Data Quality).

• Strong SQL skills combined with extensive experience working with large, complex relational datasets.

• Proven experience designing and supporting high-volume, time-critical batch data pipelines.

• Practical exposure to modern version control tools, specifically Git and Bitbucket.

• A degree in Computer Science (or a closely related field) with a major in software engineering or equivalent experience.
