Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a senior commissioning lead in Cloncurry, QLD, to oversee the EPCM electrical, instrument and control commissioning for the Eva Copper Mine project. You will lead a small team, establish procedures, and ensure safe, efficient commissioning across all stages.

This role focuses on delivering technical leadership, coordinating with suppliers and the main automation contractor, and driving progress through smart completion tools and disciplined reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field and 8–14 years of experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills required.
• Proven ability to manage electrical, instrument and control commissioning activities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project completion systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish commissioning procedures for electrical, instrument and control systems across all stages.
• Supervise construction for transportable switchrooms and coordinate FATs with suppliers and the main automation contractor.
• Lead commissioning verification, walkdowns, and punchlisting activities.
• Review commissioning activities for conformance with requirements.
• Mentor engineers, vendors, and craft in safe commissioning execution.
• Coordinate with Mechanical commissioning to optimize overall effort.
• Utilize the Smart Completion app to plan, execute, and report commissioning activities.
• Coordinate supplier and OEM site visits.
• Produce progress reports aligned to project needs.
