Job summary

Worley is seeking a Lead Civil & Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership for sustaining capital, brownfield and greenfield projects in heavy industry and energy sectors. You will shape project scopes, mentor teams, and engage clients to win work across the region.

As a Lead Senior Engineer, you’ll combine technical judgement with commercial awareness, represent Worley with regional customers and drive delivery across multi-location teams, ensuring safety, quality and on-time

About The Job

We’re seeking a Lead Civil & Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the successful delivery of sustaining capital, brownfield and greenfield projects across the heavy industry, resources, energy, chemicals, hydrocarbons, infrastructure and operating plant sectors. In this highly visible role, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic customer engagement, working closely with clients to shape project scopes, support proposals and identify future opportunities that strengthen Worley’s presence across the region. As a Lead Senior Civil & Structural Engineer, you will bring strong technical judgement, commercial awareness and a relationship-led approach to consulting. What You’ll Do

• Lead civil and structural engineering delivery for regional industrial, resources and energy customers.
• Deliver discipline-specific engineering services that satisfy Worley and its clients and meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements on time and within budget as part of the delivery team.
• Build trusted customer relationships and understand the operational, commercial and technical drivers behind their projects.
• Identify opportunities, shape scopes and support proposals, estimates and work-winning strategies.
• Provide technical assurance across calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications, reviews and site queries.
• Mentor engineers and designers, supporting strong delivery, collaboration and capability development across local and remote teams.
• Represent Worley in client meetings, site engagements, technical discussions and regional business development activities.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a recognised related discipline.
• Extensive civil and structural engineering experience, ideally within mining, energy, chemicals, hydrocarbons, ports, process plant, infrastructure or heavy industry.
• Strong brownfield, operating asset and site-based engineering experience.
• Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills, with the ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work for Worley and its customers.
• Strong client-facing and business development capability, with the ability to cultivate trusted relationships, identify opportunities, prepare proposals and secure repeat work while maintaining excellence in technical delivery.
• Practical knowledge of steel, concrete, foundations, drainage, pavements, access systems, equipment supports and constructability.
• Experience with structural analysis and 3D modelling/drafting packages, and an understanding of structural drafting workflows.
• Demonstrated experience with Space Gass structural analysis software.
• Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) software such as Strand7.
• Experience working with and managing diverse teams across multiple geographic locations.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status, registration on an appropriate national engineering register, and any relevant state-based professional engineering registration such as RPEQ or RPEV, or eligibility to obtain these registrations.
